Two more sleeps

Only two more sleeps to go before Sew Whats Crafty and I'm racing around trying to get everything done.

Today I had the TNT man drop off a box of goodies and I was very excited to see some just released stamps in there from Stamp It. They have a new catalogue that looks wonderful. I ordered some from the website but I could've gone crazy and ordered a whole lot more. The hard part is to balance out what I think will appeal to everyone else and not just me and still keep to a budget. Anyway I'll have the catalogue with me so if you would like a look let me know. Actually I'm taking all of the stamp catalogues because perhaps there's a stamp set you would like but I haven't stocked it yet.

Friday night

Last night I was invited to Shandells for homemade pizza and a card making class, both were very good. Shandell was picked from a huge number of scrapbookers to compete in the Docrafts Scrapbook Apprentice competition so if you get a chance hop on over and take a look.
Lorelle showed us how to make the birdy card and I think it looks great. I have this punch and when Lorelle made the card and used it as a stencil I thought it was a fantastic way to get more use from it.
This week has been really busy for me as I try and get ready for Sew Whats Crafty. I've got lots of stock coming in and I'm thinking about how to set up the site so its easy to to display products and so people are able to look at the whole range. If you haven't heard yet we have a craft show on here in Bundaberg on Friday 21st & Saturday 22nd May at the Civic Centre in Bourbong Street. It opens at 4pm on Friday and goes through to 9pm that night and then opens again at 9am Saturday and closes at 4pm.

Last year was the first year I had attended as a site holder and it was great fun getting to chat to people. This year I'm in the main hall, site 22 which is on the left hand side of the middle section right in front of the stage. Is that as clear as mud? Good! So I'll see you there then. Come and have a chat and I'll also be demonstrating the Marvy Markers if possible.

One for the birds

Well the nights have been a little cooler lately and the sun doesn't get up quite as early as it used to which is a nice change. We've had a few feathered vistiors in the backyard lately generally first thing in the morning, obviously they like to go out for breakfast. I've been trying to get some photos but as soon as I appear with the camera they fly off....I must make too much noise. Anyway I managed to get a photo of one of them.

The Mothers Day card I made for my mother in-law

I used the Ranunculus Field stamp and coloured it with Marvy Markers. Sorry the gold embossed wording is hard to see.

The next card I made was using some of the Darkroom door products as people often ask me how what to do with them.

My photos don't seem to be as clear with the new camera hopefully I'll get used to it soon. You can't really see it but I stamped the red cardstock with versamark (embossing ink) and the Darkroom Door Star background stamp just to take the flatness off it. Then I used the rose card from the Full Bloom Photochips and cut out the words from the Full Bloom Wordstrips and adhered them with Mini Magic Mount. Lastly I cut some lace and using Ranger wonder tape stuck it along the bottom and again using wonder tape (because its a little lumpy with the lace tucked under and I don't want it to come apart) I mounted it on the green card.

New Lines

I've had new lines coming in regularly and I thought I would just highlight a few of them in case you have an overwhelming urge to add to your much needed stash.
The Inkssentials Wonder Tape is a great product that is really tough. You can use it to stick down card, paper, chipboard, ribbon, material and it will also take embossing powder as well. It works really well with "net" ribbon as it's virtually invisible once you peel off the backing sheet. I've linked a Ranger video to it on my website so you can see the many uses.

Ranger have released two new Archival Ink Pads especially for use with your larger stamps. At this point they only have coffee and maroon but hopefully they will add more to the range over time.

Stampendous Stamps are another range that we're stocking now and they have some fun designs as well as lovely sayings. The cling mounted stamps come with a sticker on the back of the foam (the side that goes on the acrylic block) with the stamps design. It extends out around the foam and when I first went to use a stamp I trimmed it right back to the foam but I wouldn't do that to any future stamps as it's an easy way to remove the stamp from the block. Simply peel up a corner of the sticker to release your stamp.

This coming weekend as we all know is Mothers Day and if you haven't bought your Mum anything and she's a stamper or scrapbooker you might want to give her something she can have hours of creative pleasure from (and perhaps something she wouldn't treat herself to).

On Saturday I'll be in Hinkler Shopping Centre and this time we're near Woolworths as they had a week long booking for our regular spot near Boost Juice so we were moved. I'll only be having one table so I'm very limited on what products I'll be taking. The stamps will be coming and I'm takin the tins of gift cards (which are marked down by 30%) and the few gift lines I have left as well as the new canvas pieces that I've made. If you would like to see any particular product please let me know and I'll take it along (there's no obligation to buy).
Of course Sunday is our regular PCYC market where I'll have pretty much most of the stock (there's always something that won't fit on the tables) and it will be a lovely morning as well. Don't forget you can have breakfast or a moring tea snack there as well.

JAV April ATC swap

I haven't participated in the last two swaps as I was a bit busy and I didn't want to let the other members of the swap down. But when the April theme of "a pair of Queens" was announced I thought I would enjoy that so I put my name down. We had to do two atc's although they could be joined if we wanted to and that was the only stipulation.
So here are mine.
