Not attending PCYC in Oct

Just a quick note to say I won't be attending the October PCYC craft market as we'll be celebrating my father in-laws 80th birthday that weekend.

I will be at the new Handmade Expo Market being held on Saturday the 19th October at the Recreational precinct on Kendalls Rd (the old Agro Trend ground).

Please come along and support this new market. It's open between 9am and 2pm.

Childers Craft Bazaar coming up

Well it's almost here. The annual Childers Craft Bazaar held on Tuesday the 15th of October between 8am and 2pm. If you have time pop down for a look and a cuppa or light lunch.

More Wild Rose Studio Stamps

A few more Wild Rose Studio stamps have arrived and I have to say they are so cute.

They have started doing a range of grey rubber unmounted stamps as well which are just as gorgeous as their clear unmounted range. They sell for $10.95 each.

Here's a few for you to look at.

And now a few of the new clear unmounted stamps. These sell for $9.50 each.

You can see all the new lines here on the website or if you're local come and see me at the PCYC craft markets in the hall this Sunday 8th Sept.

We're open 8am until 12pm and the café starts coffee and breakfast at 7.30am.

Christmas Scrapbbok Paper

I do carry a small range of scrapbook paper but I don't list it on the website.

I generally take it to  the markets or the upcoming Childers Craft Bazaar and I've just received some lovely Christmas themed sheets. All double sided and $1.80 a sheet. Great to make cards or scrapbook pages out of and good quality.

I don't know where this year is going but I seem to be losing great chunks of it.

New Wild Rose Studio stamps have arrived and sad to say they have gone up slightly but they have been the same price for a couple of years and we all have to the cost of production. They are still great value and gorgeous stamps.

Bella with Bouquet $9.50

Bella in Love $9.50

Bunny on Scooter $10.50

For these and more new lines head on over to my website and see what's new.

Not attending PCYC markets this month

I'm sorry but I won't be attending the PCYC craft markets this coming Sunday (Mothers Day) as I have other work commitments with Robins Kitchen.

Normally it doesn't clash but this month it has so I do apologise for that if you were going to come and see me.

Don't forget you can always order something at my on-line store www.lornabluestudio.com.au or contact me by email Helen@lornabluestudio.com.au or Mob 0419 799 872 to organise a time to meet and look at my products.

If you're celebrating Mothers Day have a fantastic time.

Make a Splash

On the weekend we went to a good friends 80th birthday and as he's a bit of a character I decided to make him a card that reflected that.

As usual I was making it right up to the day and so I took this photo of the card balanced on my lap in the car heading to the party. The inside was stamped as well but I didn't get a photo of that.

Happy Easter to Everyone

I hope everyone is having a relaxing and safe Easter whatever your beliefs are. We've been around to a friends place for brunch and it was lovely, so good to get together with friends.

Melbourne Papercraft Expo

I was down in Melbourne a few weeks ago and luckily the first Papercraft Show to be held at the Exhibition Building was on at the same time.

It was the first time I had seen the Exhibition Building and I have to say it's so gorgeous although I was a little confused when I arrived as the entrance they were using was at the back. You must have to be very important for them to open up the front doors.

Here's some photos of what I saw:

The path leading up to it.

The front of the building.

As we went in.

Some of the beautiful artwork on the walls.

See the balcony walkway around the sides? The ceiling was really high.

At a stand.

Part of the teachers displays.

More of the teachers work.

I'll add more later on as it's so slow tonight I've given up.

Sew What's Crafty Expo is cancelled

I received a  phone call yesterday to tell me that due to the flood this year Sew What's Crafty Expo has been cancelled.

In one way I agree but in another I think it would be beneficial if it went ahead in perhaps another format. Maybe they could do a single day and keep it a more low key event. Not have the cooked lunches or competitions or classes.

Anyway the decision has been made so no use speculating on how to run it.

Look out for next year.

A new year and still no computer

How frustrating is it when you're told that your computer you're working on is too old and it's really not worth fixing as it will cost too much. So then you take their advice and and buy a new laptop and six months later it crashes (the old one was six years old and hadn't stopped just slowed down a lot)  ten days before Christmas and because it seems everyone either slows down or stops over Christmas IT'S STILL NOT BACK. AHHHH.

Deep breath.

Anyway I took some tomato tarts to a Christmas Party a few weeks ago and some ladies requested the recipe so I'm sorry for the delay in posting it.

Ingredients:
40gms  unsalted butter
1 tablsp brown sugar
1 tablsp sherry vinegar
2 french eschalots - sliced
250gm punnet cherry tomatoes
salt & pepper
2 sheets puff pastry
12 sprigs thyme

Method:
Pre-heat oven to 200
Grease a muffin pan.
Place butter - sugar & vinegar in a non-stick pan over medium heat and stir until butter melted and sugar dissolved.
Add eshalots, tomatoes and salt & pepper and cook for 5 minutes until caramalized .
Use a round cutter to cut the pastry to fit the top of the tin with a little tuck-in.
Divide mixture into the 12 sections.
Top with pastry and bake for 15 minutes until puffed and golden.
Turn out immediately onto a rack and top with a sprig of thyme.

They are delicious.
