Free ride

In todays Australian newspaper there is a cute story from Britain about a bus riding pussy cat. Evidently Casper the cat had for months been lining up at the bus stop near his home every day to get on board and spend the day riding around. He became such a regular and popular traveller on the 18km round trip to the centre of Plymouth that the drivers all knew which stop he used and would ask departing passengers to carry him off at the end of the day. The next day there he would be again waiting patiently in the queue although he does have a preference for First buses rather that Citybus. His owner only found out when she followed him one morning to find out where he disappeared to each day.

The bus company said they don't mind carrying Casper and as he's approx 12years old in cat years he's a pensioner so he'd get a free bus pass.

#This photo isn't actually Casper.

From the Garden

We're really lucky to live in this area as it doesn't take much effort to have a garden and grow some fruit. In our back yard we have these trees - orange, mandarin, lime and paw paw as well as two types of passionfruit and assorted herbs. Fresh mandarin and orange juice is part of our breakfast. Of course it's always nice to have a few pretty flowers as well.

Magazine

Well I still haven't finished off those cards BUT I have made my ten Christmas embellishments to swap on Sunday. We're doing a Christmas in July theme which will be a lot of fun.

I've been going through the pile of paperwork and bits and pieces on the desk in the office and I finally feel as if I'm getting somewhere. Then yesterday the new Papercraft magazine arrived so I stopped to have a browse through it and was quite pleased with the way my advert came up.

A Little Chilly

Well we had a few cool days late last week so when I received a box of flowers that I had to split up and bag I thought I would do what my cat used to. Go to the living room and find a patch of sunlight to sit in. Ahh much better with the sun on your back although still as time consuming. All finished now though and the new colours have been added to the website.

I've had this particular stamp set sitting there begging to be opened and put to use for a little while so I finally succumbed yesterday afternoon. So far I have 3 different looks and I hope to finish them off tonight or tomorrow so I can post them.

Look into my eyes!

The themes for the June ATC swap was "I" so you could do any interpretation of it that you wanted. I chose to do a little deep and meaningful "look into my eyes" type of card.

PCYC Markets

Well this month has certainly flown. This Sunday 12th you'll find me in the hall at the PCYC craft markets between 8am and 12pm, they're on the corner of Maryborough and Walker st.

I thought I would do a few sales just in keeping with the start of a new financial year (just the thought of cleaning out the filing cabinet is enough to make you shudder).

So I'll be taking 30% off all chipboard pieces and I've marked down the Savoire faire range of stamps to $5.00. You never know what else might be in for the chop as well.

I've had a few orders arrive during the month so come along and see what's new and have a great morning out. The cafe is up and running with cappuccinos and biscuits and they do a great sausage sizzle or breakfast.

Funny but serious

This may be the best Living Will I've Seen

I,__________________, being of sound mind and body, do not wish to be kept alive indefinitely by artificial means.

Under no circumstances should my fate be put in the hands of pinhead politicians who couldn't pass ninth grade biology if their lives depended on it, or lawyers/doctors interested in simply running up the bills.

If a reasonable amount of time passes and I fail to ask for at least one of the following:

Glass of wine
Chocolate
Margarita
Sex
Chocolate
Steak
Iced Tea
Sex
Mexican food
Chocolate
Cheeseburgers
French Fries
Pizza
Sex
Ice cream
Strawberries
Chocolate
Daiquiri
Sex
Chocolate

It should be presumed that I won't ever get better. When such a determination is reached, I hereby instruct my appointed person and attending physicians to pull the plug, reel in the tubes, let the 'fat lady sing,' and call it a day!

Busy, busy

Well the last couple of weeks have been so very busy. We had some people over for M's birthday on the long weekend and it was great to catch up with some friends we hadn't seen in a while.

June 22nd was our 18th wedding anniversary....and I forgot it! Ooops. That is until M brought me in a coffee at 10.30am with a card next to it. How bad can you feel? Pretty bad. At least we don't buy gifts for the "small" anniversaries just the ones ending in 0 or 5. What to do? It hardly seemed like the right thing to do was run down to the newsagents and bring back a card or disappear for a while and appear suddenly with one that I made. So I left it until later that night and made a "Happy day after anniversary card" and gave it to him at breakfast.

The Girls Night In went very well. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and we raised approx $900 for EDON Place Women's Domestic Violence Service so thats great.
The night after was the Airshow Ball and the Leukaemia Foundation was running it. It's crazy isn't it, how many times do you get the opportunity to get really dressed up and did I get any photo's? No...bad scrapbooker!

Sunday was Scrapbooking Sunday with a great group of ladies and I demonstrated a few different techniques for altering your embellishments.

So now we're on the countdown to the Wide Bay Australia Airshow being held this weekend. If you're in the area have a look at the website to see what it's all about or the Newsmail has been putting quite a bit of info in this week.

Tuesday 7th is the AGM for the Bundaberg Business Women's Network and I won't be re-standing for the Presidents position. Or any committee position. I've really enjoyed (for the most part) being on the committee for three years (two as Treasurer) but it's time I focused on things a little closer to home like my website.

The theory is I'll have a lot more time to do such things as blogging and updating the website. We'll see how that goes shall we?
