Hula Hoops and Bundy Swap Meet & Market

Do you remember earlier this year I caught a bit of a local news story featuring a lady doing Hula Hoop classes? As it turned out it was a story out of Mackay so that was disappointing as they looked like a lot of fun. Anyway when I was reading Saturdays paper this advert caught my eye so I tore it out to find out a little more about it. Funnily enough I was going to Agnes Waters on Saturday to look at an Arts Market and who should be there demonstrating but this lady. We had a bit of a chat and I ended up buying a hoop from her. She showed me a few different ways to use it and its definitely a fun way to work out or just muck around.....although I do remember it being easier when I was growing up. Tarnya does classes for all ages, parties, fire shows and she will come down to Bundaberg if you have a group who want to do a class.....or you could book in for Saturday 0448 582 632.

Unfortunately I can't make it on Saturday because I'll be having a stall at the Bunday Swap Meet and Market from 6am (yes thats 6 in the morning) until 4pm. It's being held at the Agro Trend grounds on Childers Road. This is my first year and they tell me there's all sorts of things to browse and buy, both second hand and new.

I'll be in the undercover area and I'm doing a clearance table so lots of bargains to be had. I won't be taking all my stock so if there's something you'd like to see up close just contact me and let me know to take it along (no obligation to buy).

It is for a good cause as Rotary are running it and the money goes to community service projects so hopefully we'll see you there.

Green swap and ATC's

It was a lovely day yesterday with the Simply Crafty group and I thought I would give you a look at the goodies I received in the green swap.

Once again I'm late for the JAV atc swap. This one was entitled "Portraits from the Family Tree". I decided to go looking for the family skeletons in the closet but instead I found Fairy Royalty. Oh to have beautiful wings and a crown.

September swap

I'm just getting my things together to head off to the Simply Crafty afternoon held at the Neighbourhood Centre. It runs from 11am to 4pm and you can come along, bring your craft projects to complete while having a chat and getting a few ideas.
The last couple of months we've done a swap and the theme this month was green/spring so I made some birdies on a branch. It's a fun thing to do and you end up with all sorts of embellishments to use.

Girls

Yesterday afternoon I decided I would tidy up my craft room/studio so that I could at least walk around freely without tripping over the "organized" piles of paper etc etc. I got off to a very good start but somewhere along the way I got sidetracked into stamping. So this is the result - 2 girl cards finished, 1 male card almost finished and a slightly tidier work space.

New Lines

I've just added some more new lines to the website - stamps and ink pads so if you're curious just head on over to my website Lorna Blue Studio.

The Archival Inks are a really nice ink to stamp with that are acid free, fade resistant, waterproof and non smear. Actually I prefer them to the Staz On ink pads now and they're cheaper. From my experience they work better over Alcohol Ink backgrounds as well.

New Stamps

Well the lovely couple at Darkroom Door have been up to it again! Designing new stamps that is. So here I have three new ones to show you.
I love the wording on the vintage automobile one "Over the hill! What hill? I didn't see a hill. Did you see a hill?

Is it hypocritical to show you a Christmas stamp and then ask "can you believe Spotlight has not only got their Christmas lines out but have two whole aisles of decorations". Surely thats wrong. I know some people are starting to think about making their Christmas cards and that's why I've started to order in some new stamps but surely we can wait a little longer to rush out and buy tinsel.

I owe you 40 cents.

I'm not sure if she will read this but if the lady who came around last night to pick up her order does....I'm sorry I think I owe you 40 cents. I must have got distracted when we were chatting and I'm fairly sure I didn't give you enough change.
As I don't have any contact details please ring me.

The PCYC markets were on yesterday and we had a lot of people out and about. In the afternoon the Lions club had a parade and family fun day down in the main street finishing off with fireworks at 7.30pm. In the parade they had 4 little kids about 6yrs old I'd guess dressed up in lion costumes, they looked so cute. The Newsmail must have thought so as well because they're on the front page of the paper.

Some people are lovely. I went for a walk this morning and a house had a bucket sitting on their letterbox with avocados in it and a sign saying "free...don't be greedy". So a big thank you to the people in that house for sharing their crop.
