Ladies Market Day 28-04-12

This Saturday I'll be at the QCWA Hall again for a fundraiser for EDON Place which is the Women's Domestic Violence Service.

It's free to attend and they will be selling raffle tickets throughout the day.

We have some lovely stalls for you to browse and shop at and the ladies of the QCWA will be doing morning tea.

If you came along last Saturday you'll know it was a little quiet and they ended up telling us we could go home early, well it won't be like that this time so make sure to come along.

Chocolate Baroque Stamps

The stamps by Chocolate Baroque have arrived and I have to say I love them!

They're made of a high quality natural grey rubber and they stamp up really well. Glenda was very generous in giving me some extra's to demonstrate/play with and I'll probably have enough to do a few give aways at Sew Whats Crafty.

As they come without any backing it is recommended that you use EZ Mount with them. There are four sizes to pick from and I've ordered just one of each at the moment to see how they go but I know there are a few already that I'll be re-ordering straight away.

If you want to see them in the "flesh" I'll be at the Ladies Market Day at the QCWA Hall in Quay St on Saturday from 9am until 3pm.

We have a lot of stalls booked so it's a great opportunity to shop for Mothers Day or just a little something for yourself and of course buy some tickets for the EDON Place raffle.

New Stock and the QCWA Craft Day.

Well I've been updating my website with some new products so if you get a chance pop over to the
New Lines category and have a peek. Last week I found out the server that hosts my website had been playing up a bit so if you had been trying to place an order recently and were getting an error message it's all fixed and hopefully it will stay that way.

The next few weeks I'll be adding even more new lines as I top up my stock levels in preparation for
 Sew Whats Crafty in May.

I'm very excited to be adding a new range of stamps from Chocolate Baroque soon. These are beautiful rubber stamps made in England and are a wonderful quality. Some of the designs are very arty, some are more traditional but they're all gorgeous.

I've already pre-sold some of the stock I have coming so will be ordering again next week.  If you go to the Chocolate Baroque website and see something you like I can tell you if it's on its way or I can add it to the next order for you.

Also on the way are new stamps from Wild Rose Studio. I've stocked these for about a year and they have some cute designs.

The last thing I wanted to tell you is that the CWA ladies are having a Market Day with Workshops this Saturday the 21st.

It's being held at the QCWA Hall in Quay St (next to the RSL) and it's open from 8.30am to 3pm (could be 4pm I have to check).

I'm having a table there, but only 1 table so I'll be limited at what I can display. Come along and have a browse and some refreshments. We all know the CWA ladies do wonderful food.

New cards

I hope everyone had a fantastic and relaxing Easter.

It was a slow start at the PCYC markets on Sunday but by 10am it was starting to get busy and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Did you have a look at the Gemfest at the showgrounds? I did see it called the Gemboree as well. Whatever it was called it was interesting. Lots and lots of beautiful gemstones and you could even buy a pre-made setting and choose the stone you wanted to put in it.

I spent quite a bit of time re-organising my craft room as Malcom bought me a stand at a garage sale and I had to empty out the bookcase and move it along to fit it in.

I've done a couple of cards and I had been going to make some Mothers Day ones but I can't find the stamp that says "Happy Mothers Day" so they've been put on hold.

Speaking of not being able to find things, when I came home from visiting my father I went into my craft room and went to emboss something and couldn't find my heat gun.

I looked under everything and then I was racking my brain trying to remember if I had taken it to the last craft day and maybe forgotten to pick it up. Just then Malom comes into the room and I say to him in frustration "I can't understand it, my heat gun is gone", and he says "Oh I'll get it" and goes out to his shed and retrieves it. Maybe I should get a lock installed.

PCYC Markets on tomorrow

Just a last minute reminder that the PCYC markets are on tomorrow from 8am until 12pm.

It's at the corner of Walker St and Maryborough St. Lots of activities and stalls as well as a canteen where you can have a cooked breakfast.

Look for me in the air-conditioned hall, see you there.

Toaster shopping

I was forced to go toaster shopping this week.

Well, technically not forced but if I wanted to have toast without having to turn on the stove griller then I had to go buy a new one.

Have you seen the huge array of toasters out there? No? You can get them with all sorts of features and wait for it ........in colours other than white or chrome.

Blue, red, orange, green and purple were a few that I saw.

You know you've been seduced by consumerism (is that how you spell it?) when you're standing there looking at a $169 toaster that you want not because it has anything else that the others haven't but because it's pretty. Oh....and you can buy the matching kettle. The good news is at least it takes four slices.

Did I buy it?

No, I held firm and went for a chrome one that has a crumpet setting. One side cooks hotter than the other. Cool huh? And it was $59 on sale.

Mind you, if we had a space to leave a nice blue one out on the bench and they offered me a discount it might have been a different story.

I wonder when the kettle is going to die?
