Ranunculus Field card

The Girls Night In at Moore Park was a fun night. They had lots of lovely foody nibbles going around and they were doing cocktails for $5. Not that I was drinking, one because I was driving and two because I thought I should remain a bit professional.

If you've been to the new line section lately you'll notice I've started stocking the Stampendous range of unmounted stamps. I had to order one of these Ranunculus Field stamps for me as I thought it was just gorgeous and after a qucik play this is the card I came up with.

I was going to tell you about the yoga retreat I went to last weekend. Now I have to say first of all that I don't do yoga, not that I haven't tried it a few times over the years but I tend to get 3/4 of the way through a class and I'm thinking to myself "can we just hurry up and get this over with". So when a few of the girls went "lets do a yoga weekend" I wasn't that keen. However they sold it to me with the proviso that you didn't have to do any of the classes if you didn't want to and besides they had other activities besides yoga.

Thats how I came to go along to the Juma health retreat held at the Glasshouse Mountains Eco Lodge on the Sunshine Coast. We booked in at 2pm on Friday, settled into our room, had a wander around and met up with everyone for afternoon tea at 4pm. At 5pm we went into the old church they have there and did a yoga class (yes even me) and I have to say it was great. One of the best things was that it was light while we were "yogaing" and the last part was a relaxation bit so you were laying down with your eyes closed listening to the teacher and we didn't realise it but the sun had gone down and she had walked around and lit candles so you came back to earth in this beautiful setting. We then had dinner at 6.30pm and the food is fantastic, all vegetarian and freshly made, definitely ten out of ten for the food. To keep the costs down they do ask for some help in the kitchen but it all adds to teh experience. Oh and the kitchen and dining area is in two old train carriages so its a lot of fun. After that back to the church at 8.30pm for a guided meditation.

They do four retreats a year and they do vary the activities a little but ours was:
Saturday 6.30am yoga - 8.00am breakfast - 10am Ki Aikido - 1.00pm lunch - 2.00pm Astrology - 3.30pm afternoon tea - 4.30pm belly dancing - 7.00pm dinner - 8.00pm games, music, story telling
Sunday 6.30am guided bushwalk - 8.00am breakfast - 10am yoga - 12.30pm lunch - 2.00pm departure.

They also have massage and beauty therapists available through the weekend and I booked in for a massage and it was well worth it. It's an extra charge.

So how did I come home brusied and battered? Well after the bushwalk on Sunday morning we were in the bungalow room having a chat before breakfast and they have about 5 steps from the door to the lounge area. As I went to leave I slipped on the top step and slid/crashed to the bottom step. I had my camera in my hand too so it ended up bouncing down the steps and came to rest at the bottom with me. I was bruised, it was broken, I guess thats better than the other way around.

Anyway overall it's a great weekend and if you are looking for a new experience I'd recommend it.
