Alcohol

No not the sort you drink.....this is the Adirondack Alcohol Inks that I've been playing around with.

I have to admit when I first got these almost two years ago I thought to myself another thing to sit in the cupboard and for a while they did. Then I started to do a few backgrounds with them and now I find I'm really liking the effects I can get. Of course one of the things I had to get over was the whole control thing because no matter how precisely you try to repeat what you've done it comes out slightly different each time and I've learnt that that's a good thing. And if you really hate it then get out the blending solution and just remove it.

I have a friend you doesn't scrapbook (I know it's hard to believe) and when I'm frustrated from trying to get the "perfect" result or if I'm putting off finishing a page or card because I don't want anything less than fantastic I try to remember what she says to me......."get over it, it's just paper". I think there's something in that for all of us don't you?

Girls weekend away

Last Friday I hurriedly packed some clothes and a few groceries and drove down to Peregian Beach to take part in a girls weekend away. I have to admit it wasn't without a few reservations as I only knew one person very well and two more I'd met a few times and there was seven of us going. Did I mention we were staying in a three bedroom house near the beach. Seven females, three bedrooms, one bathroom and one ensuite......this could turn into a nightmare. I am so happy to say it didn't.

The house was large enough for us all to not be tripping over each other and the ladies were all diverse so that made it a really interesting mix. We had all been allocated a meal to prepare (oh and what fantastic food we had) so that made the food side of things very easy. Everyone was meant to provide an activity and I have to say I took down a basket of card making supplies down but it stayed in the car as by the time we had a browse around the gorgeous little shops, ate, talked, read, received some beauty treatments, swam, walked on the beach, watched a dvd and went to the markets the weekend was sadly over.

Overall it was a great weekend and because we shared costs it was economical as well. The two lovely ladies who organised it are Charlene and Kim, thanks again ladies.

Express yourself

Isn't this a gorgeous flyer? I picked it up at the Chamber of Commerce breakfast on Tuesday morning. So for all the creative people out there here's an opportunity to make something and perhaps win a prize.

cute wallets

We've been away for a few days but we're home again now. If you're going through Childers either heading north or south stop in at The Drunk Bean cafe in the Woolworths shopping centre for a coffee and snack. They have date muffins that they serve warmed, sliced, drizzled with caramel sauce and cream. Absolutely beautiful and they are really friendly as well.

This afternoon I received a box of stock from a new supplier that has a range of wallets in it. Lots of lovely colours and designs and a really good price. Two sizes to pick from.

I will start photographing them tomorrow to be added to the website but if you'd like to see them up close don't forget Sunday I'll be at PCYC craft markets cnr of Walker St and Maryborough St - 8am to 12 noon in the hall.
